This Privacy Policy explains how TRIO collects, uses, stores, protects and manages information when you use the TRIO mobile application and related services.

Depending on the features you choose to use, TRIO may collect the following categories of information.

• Account information: email address, user identifier and authentication information required to create and manage your account.
• Profile information: information you choose to add to your TRIO profile, such as a display name or username.
• Profile photos: images that you voluntarily select and upload as your profile picture.
• Social connections: friend relationships, friend requests and related information required to provide TRIO's social features.
• Messages: messages that you choose to send to other users through TRIO's in-app messaging features.
• Safety information: information related to users or content that you block or report may be processed for safety, abuse prevention and moderation purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information only where necessary to operate, protect and improve TRIO, including to:

• Create and manage user accounts.
• Authenticate users and provide account access.
• Provide profile functionality.
• Provide friend and social features.
• Enable in-app messaging.
• Allow users to upload a profile picture.

4. Optional Information

Certain TRIO features are optional. For example, users may choose whether to upload a profile photo, add friends or send messages.

Information associated with these optional features is collected only when you choose to use the relevant feature.

5. Firebase and Service Providers

TRIO uses services provided by Google Firebase to support application functionality.

These services may include:

• Firebase Authentication for account authentication.
• Cloud Firestore for storing application and account data.
• Firebase Storage for storing uploaded profile images.

These service providers process information on our behalf in order to provide the technical infrastructure required to operate TRIO.

We require service providers that process personal information on our behalf to handle that information in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.

6. Sharing of Information

TRIO does not sell users' personal information.

We do not use users' personal information for third-party advertising.

Information may be processed by service providers such as Google Firebase where necessary to operate the application.

Certain information may also be visible to another TRIO user when this is necessary for a feature intentionally used by the user, such as profile, friend or messaging functionality.

We may disclose information where required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, integrity or rights of TRIO, its users or others.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect user information.

Data transmitted between the TRIO application and the services used by TRIO is transmitted using encrypted network connections such as HTTPS/TLS where supported by those services.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information handled by TRIO.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide TRIO, maintain account functionality, protect the service, resolve disputes and comply with applicable legal obligations.

When an account is deleted, personal data associated with that account is deleted unless certain information must be retained for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention or regulatory purposes.

Residual copies may temporarily remain in secure backup systems as part of standard backup and disaster-recovery processes before being removed in accordance with the applicable backup lifecycle.

9. Account and Data Deletion

TRIO users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data.

Account deletion can be initiated using the Delete Account option available within the TRIO application.

Account deletion is permanent. When the deletion process is completed, the account and associated personal information will no longer be available, except for information that we are legally or legitimately required to retain.

10. User Choices

Users may choose whether to use optional features such as profile photos, friend connections and messaging.

Users may also request deletion of their account and associated data as described above.

11. Children's Privacy

TRIO is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly target or intentionally collect personal information from children through the service.

If we become aware that information has been collected in a manner inconsistent with applicable legal requirements, we will take appropriate steps to address the issue.

12. International Data Processing

Service providers used by TRIO may process information in countries other than the country in which a user resides. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when TRIO's features, services, legal requirements or data practices change.

When this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
